The following are the instructions for installing the Echo360 Personal Capture client for Mac in your office or on your personal computer.
Login to http://lecturecapture.georgetown.edu using a web browser and type in your NetID and NetID Password.
In some cases, Mac computers will send non-copyrighted content (such as presentations) over HDCP even though they don't need to. This can prevent Echo360 from recording non-copyrighted material. Typically, this happens when an AV switch is between the Mac computer and the Echo360 recording device. As of this date, PCAP will cease to work with the Echo360 platform due to enhancements in the capture pipeline that will only work with Universal Capture. Echo360 Platform. UIC provides all faculty and instructors with a free and easy-to-use lecture capture tool called Echo360. Along with features provided by the tool, UIC faculty have access to support, learning workshops, and personal consultations. The Pod is configured with two MAC addresses to support the additional connectivity. The odd-numbered MAC address is for wireless communication. The Echo360 Pod contains wireless connectivity capability for when the device is being used in a room where wired Ethernet connections are not available. Once logged in, click on the Downloads tab at the top of the page.
Once the Downloads tab loads, click on the Installer for EchoSystem Personal Capture (Mac OS X) link under the File column.
The installer file will start downloading. A window will be displayed asking you to Save the File. Click OK to save the file.
The installer file will be saved in the default downloads location (usually the Downloads folder). Navigate to the installer file and double click to open it.
The system may ask you to confirm that you would like to open an executable file. Click OK to confirm.
The installation window will open. Drag and drop the Echo360 Personal Capture icon into the Applications folder.
Double click on the Applications folder to navigate to the Echo360 Personal Capture client icon in your Applications folder.
Double click on the Echo360 Personal Capture icon in the Applications folder to start the program.
Optional: You can Drag and drop the Echo360 Personal Capture Icon from the Applications folder into the Dock to create a shortcut.
